Temple overview

The Yamunotri temple was built in the 19th century in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. The temple is Dedicated to Yamuna River, and it is the second holiest river of India. The temple is also one of the four sites of Char Dham pilgrimage. The temple is Located at the height of 3291 meters, it is the shrine of Mother Yamuna which holds the idol of Goddess, and it is built with black marble. The temple will open at the day of Akshaya Tritiya and closes on the day after Diwali. Around the Yamunotri temple, they do not have any motorable roads so we can be reached by trekking for a few kilometers. The surroundings of the Yamunotri temple there are many hot water springs to the delight of the visiting pilgrims. Best to visit in the month of May to October.

  • Yamunotri Temple closes for pilgrims at 8:00 PM.
  • Aarti Time at Yamunotri Mandir : 6:30 am and 7:30 pm
