Someshwara temple is the oldest and famous temple located in Halasuru, which is also known as Ulsoor. The Halasuru Someshwara temple is dedicated to the Hindu God Shiva. It was ruled by Chola rulers, and later it was managed by Kempe Gowda who built Bangalore. The temple is now managed and maintained by the Karnataka government. In addition to several features of the temple are, sculptures of Ravana holding Kailash part to impress Lord Shiva, Goddess Durga killing Mahishasura, lord shivas, and Parvati’s wedding pictures and Saptarishi pictures. It is the best place to visit during Shivaratri and many people believe that the Hindu god’s Brahma and Vishnu were also worshipped in this temple.
