Sri Sharadamba Temple Sringeri is the famous Hindu temple in Karnataka, in Sringeri. The Temple is deicated to the Goddess Saraswathi(Goddess of Knowledge). The temple was founded in 8th century by Sri Adi Shankaracharya.The Devi is of sandalwood staue of Sharadhamba of standing posture. After the rule of Vijayanagara empire the devi was seated with Gold statue by 12th Jagadguru Sri Vidyaranya. There is story that there as frog who was at the bank of river Tunga, and a snake gave shelter to the frog by avoiding the sun n became the umbrella, this is belived that Shankara have envisioned this holiest place where the snake gave shelter.There is a sculpture carved at the place where the mythological story was visioned, that is called as ” KAPPE SHANKARA”.

The temple was renovated during the 14th-16th century when it was ruled by Vijayanagara Empire. By his holiness Jagadguru Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha swamiji,Sri Sringeri Sharadha suprabhata was adopted in 1970’s. Veda Bhrama is who composed the very famous Sree Sharadha Suprabatha Stotram. The Sri Sharadamba Temple Sringeri is one of the best place to visit, and the place is filled with holiness n peace.
