Sree Siddaganga Shivakumara Swamiji mutha is an ancient and oldest ashrama situated in Tumakuru. Which is dedicated to Shiva Yogi Siddapurushas.  Shivakumara Swamiji mutha is established during the 15th century by Sree Gosala Siddeshwara Swami. Gurukula is one of the main attractions of Tumakuru. There is Gurukula in this mutha which provides education, shelter, and food for the poor people. And also has a school for blind with more than 100 blind children. In 1962, the Sree Siddaganga Mutt education society was established, which manages 130 educational institutions. The temples of Sree Siddalingeshwara and Sree Siddalingamma are located in the ashram near Tumakuru, India.

How to Reach Sree Siddaganga Mutt

The route for reaching the Sree Siddganga Mutt near Tumkur is available at local transport facilities. There are plenty of buses and taxis from Tumkur. It will take two hours from Bangalore to Tumkur in Car. Strolling around the ashram and meeting the swami, seeing the discipline in the mutha will definitely be the experience for everyone visiting the mutt. You can visit anytime during the year.

About Sri Shivakumara Swamiji

Sri Shivakumara Swamiji born 1 April 1907, is an Indian supercentenarian, humanitarian, spiritual leader, and educator. He was a Lingayat religious figure, he joined the Siddaganga Matha in 1930 Karnataka and became head seer from 1941. Sri  Shivakumara Swamiji is the founded the Sri Siddaganga Education Society. Described as the most esteemed adherent of Lingayatism,  Sri Shivakumara Swamiji referred as Nadedaaduva Devaru (walking God) in the state.

Sri Shivakumara Swamiji, the head of Sree Siddaganga Mutt in Karnataka, death at age of 111. The chief minister of the Siddaganga Mutt, Dr. Shivakumara Swamiji, was also called Nadedaduva Devaru or ‘the Walking God’ by many. The Lingayat seer also headed the Sree Siddaganga Education Society which runs more than 100 educational institutions across the state.

About Sri Siddalinga Swamiji

Sri Siddalinga Swamiji is the Junior Swamiji of Math from 30th March 1988, death in the age of  69.  Sri Siddalinga Swamiji successfully led a movement against the steel plant by multinational company Posco in Gadag district and his campaign resulted in the State government of Karnataka, India. A native of Korawad village in Vijayapura district, the swami was also known as ‘Kannadada Jagadguru’ (Seer of Kannada). Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in his condolence message said he always saw Basavanna in Dr. Shivakumar Swamiji and said his work in education and providing food for students. Senior political leaders, including rivals Chief Minister HD Kumar.
