Kodungallur Temple is hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali . The temple is located in Kodungallur, Thrissur district , Kerala ,India. Kodungallur Temple is also know as Sri Kurumba and Kodungallur Amma temple. This temple is mainly worshipped among the 64 Bhadrakali temple over the state Kerala. The Temple was constructed by Cheraman Perumal. The famous festival celebrated every year in the temple is Bharani festival . This festival is celebrated almost for a month which is Kumbham month in Kerala Calendar. And extended to 7 days on Meenam month, which falls between March – April in English calendar. ” Kazhikkallu moodal” is the ritual celebrated as a start of this festival. Kodungallur Temple also celebrates Kavu Theendal as an another major festival.
