Shree Dwarkadhish Temple is one of the famous temples in India. This temple is also known as Jagat Mandir. This Temple is also spelled as Dwarakadheesh occasionally. The divine place, the Temple of Shree Dwarkadhish is a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Krishna. The Lord Krishna is worshiped here with the name as Dwarkadhish or as ‘King of Dwarka’. The Location of this temple is at Dwarka in the state of Gujarat, India.
The temple is a five storied building, whhich is supported by seventy-two pillars.The main shrine of this buliding is known as Jagat Mandir or Nija Mandir.
According to the Hindu legend,The city of Dwarka was built on a piece of land by Krishna which was reclaimed from the sea. Sage Durvasa once visited Krishna and his wife Rukmini. when the sage visited the two, he asked them to take him to that place. Both lord Krishna an Rukmini agreed and they started walking. After a while, Rukmini was tired hence she asked krishna for some water. That is when Lord Krishna dug a mythical hole that brought in river Ganga. This made Sage Durvasa angry and he cursed Rumini to remain in the same place forever.
