Raghavendra Swamy Mantralayam is one of the major attractions in Andhra Pradesh, Guru Raghavendra Swamy is believed that he is the incarnation of Bhakth Prahaladh, Guru Raghavendra Swamy was a great devotee of Lord Vishnu. Raghavendra Swamy was a family man before becoming a saint, on the day of his transformation as a saint his wife wished to see him for the last time and while coming in a hurry she fell into a well and then became a ghost and came to see him, Raghavendra Swamy sensed her presence and sprinkled holy water and relieving his wife’s presence from her birth till the day she died and Raghavendra Swamy is known for these kind of miracles.
To Miaintain discipline devotees are expected to speak in low voice and devotees need to follow the dress code here that is men has to remove their shirts before entering the temple and women should be dressed traditionally, and before entering to the temple devotees has to take a holy dip in Tungabhadra river. Raghavendra Swamy Mantralayam is known for its peaceful atmosphere.
