Purnagiri Temple is one of the 52 Shakti Peethas. It is located at a distance of 20kms from Tanakpur of district Champawat in state Uttarakhand, India. The Temple is dedicated to goddess Purnagiri Devi. This Temple is located on the top of the mountain above 3000meters from sea level. The surroundings of the temple are so beautiful. The river Kaali is streaming between two mountains, one of them is Purnagiri and another one is Baba Siddh Nath. And also surrounded by shops and Dharamshalas where tourists and devotees can stay and enjoy the place. The devotees and tourists can enjoy the beautiful view from the top of Purnagiri temple.
According to legends, Daksha performed Yagna to desire the revenge on Lord Shiva because he married a former’s daughter against his will. Daksha invited all the deities for Yagna except Shiva and Sati. Because he was angry with her as she married to yogi Lord Shiva.
