Golden temple coorg  is the largest teaching center of nyingma lineage of the Tibetan’s called Tibetan’s Buddhism over the world. The Golden temple coorg is located in Bylakuppe, Mysuru district, Karnataka, India. The monastery is a home to a sandha(community) over five thousand monks and nuns .

Golden temple coorg host various ceremonies yearly and the main ceremony performed is their own Tibetan New Year. Which is also known as Losar in buddhism. Based on Tibetan’s calendar dates are not static but it falls in the month of February or March.

The Temple host their own traditional dance called Lama Dance. The golden was established in the of 1963. The Golden temple coorg is also famously known as Thegchog Namdrol Shedrub Dargyeling called  Namdroling Nyingmapa Monastery.

The Golden temple coorg is very famous for Tibetan settlements, also for spiritual seekers.The temple has a 60 ft golden statue of the Buddha which is formally considered as holy and sacred. The Tibetan settlement over the place Bylakuppa is about 70,000 inhabitants.

In the Golden temple coorg settlements are close to the border of Kodagu(coorg),were the is land granted by the Maharaja of Mysore,karnataka. Around 10,000 of tibetan’s had sought to refuge in India after an uprising against the Chinese. Thus the occupation over  their region in the year 1959. They initially in the temple was  found themselves in North Bengal. But then they began to move to settlement across all over the country. Bylakuppe town is the second largest Tibetan settlement in India after the place Dharamsala.
