Kalighat Temple is a landing stage for the Kali, this temple is situated on the banks of a small canal called Adhi Ganga which connects to the river Hoogly in Calcutta. Kalighat Kali Temple is considered as one among the 51 Shakthi Peeta’s where Devi Sati’s various body parts have fallen during Shiva’s Rudra Tandava and this Kalighat is believed to be Devi Sati’s right foots toes. Temple is believed to be most powerful and people believe that the kali Mata will bless them and fulfill all their wishes.
