Vaitheeswaran Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, it is located in Tamil Nadu, India. The name Vaitheeswaran means the God of healing, the Lord here is also popularly known as Vaidyanatha which means the one who heals everything.
The history of the Vaitheeswaran Temple says that during Ramayana the Lord Sri Rama, Lakshmana and the Rishi Muni’s worshipped the Deity in this temple. Once the Lord Subramanya killed the demons here during the war and many people were injured during this war and then Shiva came in the form of Vaitheeswaran (Vaidya) which means the doctor and then cured the people since of that time he is been worshipping in that form.
There is a tank inside the temple where the devotees take a holy dip before entering into the temple and the devotees believe that if they take a holy dip in this all their diseases will be cured.
