Guruvayur Temple is a Hindu temple,which is been mainly worshiped by the Hindus of Kerala. It is dedicated to the Hindu god Guruvayurappan (second god in the Hindu triumvirate (or Trimurti), located in the Guruvayur town of Thrissur district in Kerala ,India. It is easily accessible by road and rail . It is one of the most importand pilgrim centers and is often referred to as Bhuloka Vaikunta. which is expressed as the celestial abode of god Vishnu on the earth.

Guruvayur Temple is a  cheif  deity of lord Vishnu, worshipped in the form of his incarnation Krishna. which is front idol with a four-armed standing pilgrim of loard Vishnu who is carrying the conch( Shankha ) Panchajanya, the Sudarshana Chakra, the mace(gada) Kaumodaki and a lotus with a Holy basil Tulsi garland and pearl necklace the Lord here appears in all radiance to bless the devotees. The Entire life of the Guruvayur town revolves around the temple.This image represents the grandiose form of Vishnu as revealed to Krishna’s father as Vasudeva and mother Devaki in the vicinity time of Krishna’s birth; this is the reason why Lord is worshipped in his baby incarnation. Also, the Guruvayur temple is called “Dwarka of South India” over the view of Krishna’s widespread presence in the loaclity. The central shrine of the Guruvayur temple was  believed to have been rebuilt in 1638 A.D, from then it had become the most known to people and most famous center of pilgrimage in Kerala mainly due to the devotees who propagated the glory.

THE TEMPLE OPENS AT 3.00 AM.

Timings
3:00am to 3.30am -Nirmalyam
3.20am t0 3.30am -Oilabhishekam,Vakacharthu,Sankhabhishekam
3.30am to 4.15am -Malar Nivedyam, Alankaram
4.15am to 4.30am -Usha Nivedyam
4.30am to 6.15am -Ethirettu pooja followed by Usha pooja
7.15am to 9.00am – Palabishaka with pooja.
11.30am to 12.30pm  -Ucha pooja (the noon pooja)

The Temple will be closed between 1:30pm and 4:30pm.

Timings
4.30pm to 5.00pm  – Seeveli
6.00pm to 6.45pm -Deeparadhana
7.30pm to 7.45pm  -Athazha pooja Nivedyam
7.45pm to 8.15pm -Athazha pooja
8.45pm to 9.00pm -Athazha seeveli
9.00pm to 9.15pm -Thrippuka, Olavayana

The Sreekovil will be closed after 9:15pm. If its the Special day than the Villiku(Deepam) illumination  is performed after the last Pooja and than the  Sreekovil(Guruvayur Temple)will be closed after Thripuka is done.
