Chaturshringi Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Chaturshringi. The temple is located in Pune, Maharashtra state, India. Chaturshringi Temple is situated right on the slope of a small hill which is on Senapati Bapat Road. The temple was built during the Maratha King Shivaji reign. But now the temple is been maintained by Chaturshringi Temple trustees. The devotees who visit the temple have to climb more than 100 steps.
Chaturshringi Temple has a history says a rich Peshwa who is named Durlabhsheth Pitambardas Mahajan. He was a great devotee of Devi Saptashringee who used to worship Devi every day by traveling almost 300kms on every full moon of Chaitra month. The main reason is to take the darshan of Goddess Devi Saptashringee. When the person became older and didn’t have the strength to go to the temple, he was upset with that. Because of his true devotion towards Goddess Devi Saptashringee, Goddess appeared in front of him. She promised the man that she will be living nearby him in the mountain of North-West Pune. The Goddess Devi Saptashringee asked him to place a statue of her. Peshwa Durlabhsheth went to that place and placed her statue nearby him. Thus the man built a temple over the statue and it was been worshipped every day and it is named Chaturshringi Temple.
