Bannari Amman Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Goddess Bannari Amman and is considered as one of the most famous temples among Amman temples, it is located in Tamil Nadu, India.
The history of the temple says that the cows and the tigers both use to drink water at the same place without harming each other, the cowherds use to take the milk from the cow and give it to the owners of the cow, there was one particular cow which never use to give cow either for the cowherds or to its calf. Once the cowherd who was so curious about this cow followed it when all other cows were grazing, this cow went to a tree and stood beneath that and automatically the milk started flowing from the cow this news spread all over the village and when the village people went near the tree and when they dig the grass there for their surprise they found a Swayambu Lingam, and from then they started worshipping this in the form of Bannari Amman.
