Actually the mandir is expected to spread over 162 acres. In terms of land area, this would make it the largest Hindu temple in the world. The Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, Srirangam in Tamil Nadu, occupying 156 acres, is currently the largest Hindu temple.

The architects took elements from both Southern and Northern Indian temples, and the majestic temple will have ornate columns and panels depicting scenes from the Ramayana and Mahabharata and ancient scriptures. The halls will have full-size idols of the sect’s major leaders.

More than 2,000 artisans work in Dungarpur, Pindwada, and Sangwada for different parts of the temple. The finished parts will be delivered to the US where master craftsmen will assemble them.
